The fans are operated by remote control, a huge perk since we were able to control the fan from other rooms. The remote controlled the lights and the fan speed, and even came with a wall mount, which added to the convenience. The fans are silent even when placed on the highest speed, though the best speed setting was the medium speed as it cooled the room the fastest and kept it at the most comfortable temperature.
