This is a nice quality outdoor fixture. The glass is fairly thick , thicker than some other outdoor lights I have anyway. I really like the pattern in the glass, this was one of the main reasons I requested it. Clear glass lights are a bit blinding for me- the glass on this fixture is pretty good at difusing the irritating brightness so I'm very happy with it. Everything need for install is included- even the mounting plate for the electrical box. The chain is included as well & both end links are quick connect screw type links so no chain spreader or twisting is needed unless you want to remove links to shorten the hang distance. The glass fits up into the light a good bit . NOTE : sure to loosen the glass fixing screws nearly all the way out & make sure the glass gets ALL the way in. It may seem like it is set in properly when it's not! One thing that needs to be addressed is the screws (which are not thumb screw type) for the glass do not "fix" the glass- so the glass is loose and rattles a bit. Possibly this is intentional sincecthey are phillips head and if they were longer as they generally are it would be easy to break the glass....I had a silicone gasket that fit perfectly in the groove from a kitchen canister set (sugar, flour) that helped this situation. Couple wraps of electrical tape or longer thumb type screw would also work. The fixture appears to be well designed to avoid water getting in. One thing to concider is the placement -this is a ceiling mounted fixure that hangs down quite a bit ( can be shortened). From ceiling plate to top of the pendant (40") using full length of the chain. So if you are a installing where driving sideways rain may reach the the top of the pendant you may want to add a bit of silicone where the wire exits the top of pendant. I did this to avoid water being directed into the wire channel -as it is hanging where rain will definitely hit the wire, chain, and pendant top. Over all I'm very happy with the quality of this light. The metal is thick and strong so is the glass. I feel it handle blowing around on my porch very well :)
