I had some other solar lights that died after about 3 years which is not bad considering. I decided to go with this style of lights as they’re adjustable (both the lights and the solar panels)After installing 3 of these lights on my house and using them for a couple of months, I can say I’m almost completely satisfied. The lights seem to consistently last through the night and charge up well each day. This is even true of cloudy or stormy days. The lights have been through some showers and thunderstorms. They are still working like new. I see no evidence of water infiltration on any of the lights. My only complaint is that there isn’t an option for the lights to be totally off unless motion is detected. That’s how I set my old lights. I know the dim setting draws very little power, but I don’t see a need for the light to be on at all unless something or someone is around.Once motion is detected by these lights, they go from dim to quite bright. Depending on how you set the adjustable lights, you can really throw some light in a broad area. With the 3 lights I have and the old light which is still working, I can light up the entire front of my house. Pretty impressive from such a small package.First, I would like to inform everyone that this is made in china.I get a lot of questions about where things are made so i will be adding it to all reviews.Nothing bad to say about these lights. The only thing I would say is that they are not super bright. Now I live in the country and it is very dark at night, so these will probably look brighter in an area where there are some lights from a city or buildings with other lights. What I like about them is that they stay in a dim mode until the motion detection is triggered. Also, they are a great value for the money.Look for more RS2 ReviewsIt works! I bought it to scare off the critters that come in the night to eat my oranges. When it detects motion it lights up bright and this scares them away. The problem is mounting as you have to line up the screw heads so they exactly fit into the spaces on the unit. It is supposed to slide in and the screw head holds it in place. Hard to line it up as has to be exact. They need a better/easier install system. Still it did want I wanted so happy.I love these lights. I placed them in two areas of my barn/chicken coop. One in the front to light up my walking path and the other above the chicken coop door. I did have a little trouble with one of the lights pen insert. But after I realized I had not fully activated it I tried again and left it to charge in the sun before mounting it in place. I sat outside and waited for the sun to set. Within moments of sunset my lights were on. First on the spot light setting them they faded to dim. I went outside later that evening and noticed my spotlight was casting at the front of the barn and I could clearly make out my horses features from quite a distance. I love this light and I think it will give me the added bonus of critter deterrent. I would suggest the seller making a screw placement guide so that it easier to get straight. I marked the wood with my screwdriver and guessed about the distance needed. Needless to say I do have slightly crooked lights. If I was doing this on my home I would def take more time to perfect itIt stays on a dull light for a long time. Wished it was brighter. But for the money I got what I paid for I believe. Better than not having any light. I use it to put my car cover on at night time along with a camera to catch sneaky ppl at night walking around the neighborhood.Unit worked just fine - bright when it was supposed to be. A tiny bit tricky turning it on with the enclosed "pin" but figured it out. Unit was smaller than I expected but if it was bigger then the wall attachments would have been too weak. All in all, probably well balanced. I will see if the wall attachments hold up in heavy winds but I suspect they will be fine. I def do not regret the purchase - seems to meet my needsAs others have said it’s really amazing that this small light is as bright as it is. We’d been considering having an electrician install some junction boxes to add some motion sensor lights but kept hesitating as we knew it was going to be quite expensive. These lights are so well priced that we installed one over each of our windows at a fraction of what just one hard-wired light would have cost. We also really like the fact that they stay on all night, at low intensity, as a warning to would be intruders. We did have a minor issue with one of our lights and the seller took care of it, no questions asked, immediately. We will happily buy from them again.I have just had this installed a couple of days , but so fare it is working very well. It was easy to install and the two articulated fixtures of the light allow a good degree of putting the light where you want it. I have it set to light the entrance to our home with the downward light and one of the two others you can aim , and the other one I have aimed at a flag on our porch. I like that is on the low output until something moves and then then the brighter light come on with motion to conserve the battery . Will be interested to see how it performs after a cloudy day , but so fare I am impressed .
